Poynings is a 6-bedroom Victorian property located in Berkshire. It is home to a blended young family, so it was important that all the family were involved in the renovation and interior design, as it was a bonding process for them all. The house showcases the family’s love of funky art and accessories, full of colour and pattern and somewhere that is fun for entertaining. It has become most famous for its full-size Carousel Horse on the kitchen island!

At the start of the project there was a fire on the third floor, which forced the renovation to move quickly, and extend itself to the top floor and attic – creating an extra bedroom with the use of brand-new dormers. A later addition was the lodge, a building in the garden for the teenagers to hang out in as they grew older and gained friends – it’s an incredible social space with table tennis tables, a huge screen and comfy sofas. This family home needed to adapt and change as the family did and creating spaces that could be adapted in the future was key when designing this family home.
