About the project
This architectural gem is located in the heart of Marylebone, London. Once a sweet factory, the building is full of industrial charm and character. The brief was to create a cool and funky bolthole for a professional to live Monday – Friday. It had to very different from the owners countryside home, and this was achieved by making the most of the original features and emphasising the industrial look and feel.
The apartment didn’t have lighting when it was purchased, but this was quickly rectified by adding industrial electrical cabling to add to the urban look. This was much cheaper and more visually effective than channelling wires and cables into the concrete walls. Hooks in the ceilings were reinstalled and funky art and wallpaper were added to give an ‘inner-city’ vibe.
